Foots Cray Baptist Church

The Church on Sidcup Hill

Hall and Room Hire

Thank you for considering Foots Cray Baptist Church.  We have several rooms that are available for hire for single events or for regular meetings.  Some information about groups that hire rooms on a regular basis can be found by clicking here.

The Church

The church itself, or the sanctuary, is used every Sunday for our services and is suitable not only for worship but also concerts and conferences.  The main area seats 100 and a further 80 can sit in the gallery, but the view is restricted towards the rear.

Seating is in wooden pews

Facilities include a sound system, projector and screen, and grand piano.  Please click here for information about our pipe organ

The Church Hall

Local people have probably visited the hall as it has been used for many years as a polling station.  We use the hall for a variety of social events, for our monthly coffee morning and for after church refreshments.  It is suitable for conferences, children’s parties and for other social events, but we do not permit alcohol on the premises.

Local groups can hire the hall during the week on a regular basis.  It is one of the largest rooms in the neighbourhood and we are keen to share it with the Foots Cray community.

There are about 100 chairs and several tables that can be arranged as you like, plus many children's chairs.

The hall is approximately 131 square metres and can be divided into three sections. The middle section, between the two dividers is about 7.5 metres square and the two end sections are about 5 metres by 7.5 metres.

The hall can accommodate a small or medium Bouncy Castle.  The effective height is 3.4 metres (11ft), but it does reduce to 3.2 metres where the hall is divided.

We charge £30 per hour for a party, but we will agree lower rates for charities and long term lettings such as a weekly class.

Facilities include our kitchen so you can prepare refreshments and even meals, but please wash up before you go.

The Parlour

This cosy room is well-named, based on the French parler, to talk, and is very suitable for meetings of up to about 30 people, especially when some discussion is required.

Smaller rooms

There are three smaller rooms, two of which at the top of a flight of stairs, which are suitable for committees, study groups or other small meetings up to about a dozen.

The smaller rooms can be used as break-out rooms if you use the church or hall for conferences.

Toilet facilities

These are situated near the hall and kitchen.  The taps are fitted with thermostatic mixing valves to avoid children and vulnerable adults scalding themselves.  An accessible toilet is off the entrance lobby to the church.

WiFi LogoWi-Fi and broadband is available to users at no extra charge.

Car Park

Our car park can handle about 15 cars and there is some street parking nearby.

Application

Please click here to download an application form or compete the following for more information.  We need at least two weeks notice.

The premises are administered by volunteers, which is why we can keep prices low, but we will ask you to leave the rooms clean, tidy and that you take away all food and rubbish.

The Legal Stuff

Please click here for our normal Conditions for Hire

Please note that we expect those who hire a room to respect that we are a Baptist Church and not to use the hall for activities that are inconsistent with Christian principles or to behave in a manner that might bring discredit to the church or be a nuisance to our neighbours.

We reserve the right to refuse an application or terminate an agreement according to our understanding of what that means. For example, we do not permit late evening noise, alcohol or gambling, and do not let rooms to religious groups outside mainstream Christianity.
